Gonzalez Gets It Done In ONEMIAMI, FL - Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing Light Heavyweight contender Yuniesky Gonzalez (18-2 14 KO’S Miami, FL) scored his second consecutive 1st round knockout at the Miami Airport Convention Center Friday night taking out former Olympian Maxwell Amponsah (11-3 10KO’S Bronx, NY), in a 10 round Light Heavyweight contest.
Gonzalez, fiercely determined to get another major fight, wasted no time once again as he jumped on Amponsah from the opening bell with an onslaught of heavy punches. Amponsah had no answer for the ever charging Gonzalez forcing the referee to stop the action in the 1st round. This was the second fight under new trainer Pedro Diaz for Gonzalez who has looked impressive in both. Promoter Joe DeGuardia had this to say about the fight “Yuniesky looked very good tonight taking out a normally very tough and durable opponent with ease. I’m really happy with the progress Yuniesky has made under new trainer Pedro Diaz and I’m very confident we will get a major Light Heavyweight fight in the near future”. The event was promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Boxing Storm Promotions. |
